Jitu Rai and Heena Sidhu

India’s Jitu Rai and Heena Sidhu won gold in 10m mixed team air pistol event at International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup Rife/Pistol stage at Gabala, Azerbaijan. They defeated Russia 7-6 to win. Also, France beat Iran by the same score to win the bronze medal.

On the fourth day of the competition, both Jitu and Heena just missed making it to finals of both men’s and women’s finals of 10m Air Pistol event. they finished 12th and 9th in their respective qualifiers while the top 8 were selected for the finals.

Though at the World Cup, Mixed Events are not being considered for medal tally but they have been approved for Tokyo Olympics 2020. This must be a good news for both the players as this is their second gold in this category. They won their first in New Delhi World Cup earlier this year.
