Indian women won the gold medal in the Asian Games.

They beat Sri Lanka in the finals and won the gold medal.

The Indian women’s team directly got a place in the quarterfinals of the Asian Games with the help of their overall ranking.

First Match

Their first match was against the Malaysian women in the quarterfinals.

The Malaysian team winning the toss invited India to bat first.

Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma opened the innings for India.

They both gave a good start to their teams when Smriti lost her wicket.

Shafali completed her half-century, and Jemimah also supported her in adding runs.

India made a total of 173/2 in fifteen overs when rain interrupted the game.

After the stop of Rain Malaysia, women were given a target of 177 by the DLS method.

They were able to play only two balls when the rain started again, and the match ended with no result.

Second Match

The semi-final match was against Bangladesh Women.

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first.

Shathi Rani and Samima Sultana opened the innings for them.

Pooja Vastrakar in the first over only sent both openers back to the pavilion.

After the openers, the Indian bowlers were giving frequent breakthroughs to the Bangladesh women.

India Women took all their wickets for a score of just 51 runs.

Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma opened the innings for India.

The top order finished the match in just 8.2 overs as India Women made it to the Asian Games finals.

Final Match

India Women were all set to face Sri Lanka Women in the finals.

India won the toss and elected to bat first.

Smriti and Shafali opened the innings for India, as Shafali soon lost her wicket.

Smriti and Jemimah played important knocks as India reached a total of 116/7.

Chamari Athapaththu and Anushka Sanjeewani opened the innings for Sri Lanka.

Titas Sadhu soon sent back both openers, as the Indian bowlers didn’t let them achieve the total.

The tight bowling and fielding by India made them win the gold medal and stopped the Sri Lanka team at a total of 97 runs.

India Women won the final gold medal match by 19 runs, as they also won the gold medal.
