India won the second ODI, and they led the tri-match series by 2-0.

They also made their highest total against Australia in an ODI match.

Australia came to India ahead of the World Cup for a tri-match series.

India winning the first match already took the lead, as they also achieved the first position in the ICC ODI rankings.

Jasprit Bumrah took a rest from the second ODI as he flew home to see his family and will come back in the third match.

Match Details

The second ODI match was played on September 24 in Indore.

Australia won the toss and invited India to bat first.

India Innings

Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shubman Gill opened the innings for India.

Josh Hazelwood gave an early breakthrough to the Indian team in the form of Ruturaj.

Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer handled the situation from there, as they were playing great knocks.

As the match went on, they completed their half-centuries, followed by their centuries.

They formed a partnership of 200 runs when Shreyas lost his wicket.

KL Rahul came into the bat and started to contribute as later Shubman lost his wicket.

Ishan came in as he started to hit big shots, and while trying to flick the ball, he gave an easy catch to Carey.

Suryakumar Yadav came in with a mindset to destroy Australian bowling.

He hit four continuous sixes to Cameron Green as he completed his half-century.

His outstanding finishing knock of 72 runs brought India to a total of 399/5.

Australia Innings

Matthew Short and David Warner opened the innings for Australia.

Prasidh Krishna didn’t let it settle as he took the wicket of Matthew and then, in the next ball, took the wicket of Smith.

David kept the momentum from one end, but no one else was able to support him.

One by one, wickets were falling for the Australian team.

Sean Abbott, in between, played a knock of 54 runs as Jadeja bowled him.

Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets each, and Prasidh Krishna took two wickets.

India won the match by 99 runs through the DLS method.
