For the first time in history, an Asian team has claimed the first position in all the formats of cricket.

India, after beating Australia on September 22, claimed the first position in the ICC ODI teams.

They have already claimed the first position in the ICC rankings in tests and T-20Is.

Pakistan was the number one ODI team, but as India won against Australia, they claimed the first position.

Ahead of the World Cup, Australia came to India for a three-match series.

Match Details

The first match was played on September 22 at Mohali.

India, winning the toss, elected to bowl first.

Australia Innings

Mitchell Marsh and David Warner opened the innings for Australia.

Mohammad Shami was not letting them settle down as he took the wicket of Mitchell in the first over.

David and Steven Smith handled the situation from there, as they added some valuable runs to the total.

Going on, David completed his half-century as Ravindra Jadeja broke the partnership as he took the wicket of David.

After David, Smith also lost his wicket to Mohammad Shami.

The middle order was trying to settle down as they also added good runs to the total number of Australia.

Mohammad Shami from one end kept on taking wickets as he took a haul of five wickets.

Australia lost all their wickets to a score of 276 runs as Shami took five wickets.

India Innings

Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shubman Gill opened the innings for India.

They both gave a great start to their team, as they were going well.

They were hitting boundaries across the field and even taking single doubles.

As the match went on, they completed their half-centuries as they were single-handedly taking India towards victory.

Adam Zampa broke the partnership when he took the wicket of Ruturaj.

After that, India lost three wickets as KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav handled the situation.

They both completed their half-centuries as Surya lost his wicket.

KL in the second last over helped India win the match by hitting a great six.

With this win, India became number one in all formats.
