The official technology partner of ICC Champion’s trophy, Intel is launching a platform to showcase their latest innovation, the “Bat Sense,” a device designed for batsmen in collaboration with Bangalore based company, Specular. The device is made for professionals and for batsmen who are already settled in this field, device will be priced at Rs 10,000 and this will be soon launches in August, this took almost 18 months to develop such a bat, which has so many features inside it and to make the functions and controls so easy so that everyone can control and use it. They just need some basic information and go through the tutorial, thoroughly. Bat Sense is making its debut at the Champions trophy, being used by a handful of batsmen in each team.

Device is Powered by Intel’s Curie, Bat Sense allows batsmen to take care of few important features like, Maximum bat speed, bat speed at impact, backlift angle, and time to impact, impact angle and follow through angle.

 

Anuj Dua, Director of Marketing for Intel’s New Technology Group commented that “The demand for a device that could measure a batsmen’s performance came directly from the coaches themselves. They think this will make a difference in their performance.”

 

Atul Srivastava, CEO, Specular mentioned that “Every coach has different requirements of data that they want to be able to go through from anywhere, because in today’s times, there is no concrete training data available for most cricket academies, basic motto to make bat sense is to become more professional and increase the level of interest”

 

This device works when it gets connected with Bluetooth to any smartphone and transmits the batting data to a dedicated app. Intel and Specular have worked on the Bat Sense to be a device that can be used by both professionals and aspiring cricketers alike.
