The Final of the Dream11 IPL 2020 will be played between the 4 times IPL Champions and the current defending champions Mumbai Indians and the Delhi Capitals on Tuesday 10th of November.
Rohit Sharma gave an injury update on Trent Boult and said that the pacer is expected to play on Tuesday.
“Trent looks pretty good. He’s had a good past 2 days and will have a session with us. So, fingers crossed, hopefully, he plays,” Sharma said.
Earlier in the day, the franchise posted a video in which Trent Boult can be seen bowling in nets. The Mumbai Indians are backing their players as they sweat it out in the field ahead of their finals.
The mein in blue Mumbai Indians will take on the Delhi Capitals who are yet to win an IPL trophy and the match will be on 10 November at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. They aim to create history by winning their 5th IPL title tomorrow.
Boult suffered a groin injury in Qualifier 1 vs DC
Boult was up in action in the first qualifier as he got 2 wickets in his first over. The pacer from Kiwi did not return to bowl after troubling the DC batsmen for 2 overs. This sent chills over the spines of Mumbai supporters.
Boult was expected to partner Jasprit Bumrah with the ball in the death overs too after his magnificent start to the innings. Unfortunately, he moved out in the 14th over due to the injury.
Mumbai who went on to win the match by 57 runs and book a spot in the IPL final, it did make people question if the left-arm would be fit for the final.
How important is Boult for MI?
Boult has been MI’s go-to bowler in the powerplays. Jasprit Bumrah has taken a lot of his wickets in the death overs, the New Zealand international has hardly missed when it comes to deceiving batters in the first 6 overs.
Also, Boult is currently the third-highest wicket-taker in IPL 2020 with 22 wickets to his name.
The most lethal bowling duo of the IPL is of Boult and Bumrah without any doubt as they bagged 49 wickets in total.
The men in blue will face Delhi Capitals for the fourth time as DC have defeated SRH by 17 runs in the 2nd Qualifier.
Mumbai Indians have entered their sixth IPL finals as they are the defending champions and have won the title 4 times already.
