Confirmed news coming in from the BCCI as they announce the completed schedule for the Dream11 IPL 2020. The men in blue will face Chennai Super Kings in the opening match of the season. Both the teams were in the finals of last year where Mumbai Indians grabbed a one run win over the men in yellow. Due to unfortunate conditions the IPL will be played in the UAE and not India.
Even though the delay in the IPL schedule has caused a lot of controversies as it was expected to be out by last month. The reason can be declared as Covid-19 and certain other multiple reasons. The Indian Board were looking forward to create an effective and flexible schedule so that they are free to change anything later if required. On the other hand the schedule was further delayed when 13 members of the Chennai Super Kings had tested positive.
The Chairman of IPL Mr.Brijesh Patel had already confirmed that the Schedule would be out by 6th of September as per ANI.
Talking about the second day of the season there’s an exciting clash between the two heavyweights as the Kings XI Punjab take on Delhi Capitals in Dubai. 21st September is the date when the Royal Challengers Bangalore will kick off their campaign against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Rajasthan Royals will go up against Kolkata Knight Riders on 22nd of September.
However the playoff fixtures are yet to be released by the BCC but it is the confirmed that the final would take place on a working day that is 10th of November.
The multi million dollar league was expected to begin in India on March 29 but unfortunately due to the pandemic it was shifted to the UAE. The 53 day tournament will be played across three venues – Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah.
