The Indian Premier League is almost here and we have news coming in from the Rajasthan Royals as they appoint the great Australian legend Shane Warne as their Brand Ambassador and Mentor for this season of IPL 2020.

The 51-year-old will take charge in the 13th edition of IPL which will begin on September 19th and will end on November 10th. The tournament will be played across the three emirates which includes the likes of Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

The exciting revelation was made by the official twitter handle of Rajasthan royals when they confirmed about Shane Warne joining their side with a double responsibility of Brand Ambassador and Mentor. This news was posted on Sunday as it was Warne’s Birthday too on that particular day.

Warne appreciated the love and affection from his fans and looks forward to helping his team off the field to glory.

‘Thanks, boys. Looking forward to being back & helping the off-field team push the royals brand – plus watching the game from the stands and being on hand to offer any advice if required !!!,” he tweeted.

It will be an exciting journey for Shane Warne as he will work alongside his victorian teammate Andrew Mcdonald and the head coach. Talking about the numbers that Warne has produced in his entire career are astonishing as he took 708 test wickets in just 145 matches whereas took 293 wickets in 194 ODI appearances.

Meanwhile, Warne will also join forces with Zubin Bharucha, Head of Cricket at Rajasthan Royals. It is to be noted that Bharucha was with the legendary Australian spinner during the inaugural season of the IPL and the duo had clinched the title together back in 2008.

Last week, the players of the Rajasthan-based franchise literally saw a royal landing of their jerseys for the 2020 IPL when a skydiver jumped off a plane to delivery their new kit on a beach in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

In the video, a Spanish skydiving athlete could be seen jumping off a plane from several thousand feet above the Palm Islands and carrying a Rajasthan Royals bag with him. The skydiver parachuted onto the beach before he eventually drops a bag full of Rajasthan Royals jerseys for the players to grab.

Rajasthan Royals will kickstart their campaign in the 13th edition of the IPL against three-time winners Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on September 22 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

With lots of things to clear this year with Shane Warne by their side, Rajasthan Royals will be a team on a mission in this year’s IPL 2020.
