New Zealand won against Afghanistan by a huge margin of 149 runs.

The World Cup has been in full form, and everyone is seeing great matches too.

Match Details

The 16th match of the World Cup was played between New Zealand and Afghanistan.

Afghanistan won the toss and was elected to the field first.

New Zealand Innings

Devon Conway and Will Young opened the innings for New Zealand.

The Afghanistan bowlers started to bowl well from the start, as in the second over, Rahmat Shah dropped the catch on Young.

After the drop of the catch, they both started to hit some boundaries and make the best use of the powerplay.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman didn’t let them convert the partnership into a big score as he took the wicket of Devon.

Will kept on going as he completed his half-century and added valuable runs to the total.

Azmatullah Omarzai broke their partnership as he took two wickets in a single over.

He took the wicket of Will and Rachin in the 20th over, as in the next over, Daryl lost his wicket.

The black caps got three quick breakthroughs as Tom Latham and Glenn Phillips handled the situation.

They both kept on going and also completed their half-centuries.

With their knocks of 68 and 71 runs, New Zealand built a total of 288/6.

Afghanistan Innings

Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran opened the innings for Afghanistan.

They were both trying to settle down, and Henry bowled Gurbaz.

In the next over, Trent Boult took the wicket of Ibrahim.

The bowlers of New Zealand were not letting the batsmen of Afghanistan settle down.

They were giving them breakthroughs in a short interval of time.

Mitchell Santner and Lockie Ferguson were giving quick breakthroughs as they both took three wickets each.

None of the Afghanistan batsmen were able to stand in front of the Black Caps bowling attack.

With their outstanding bowling, they bowled Afghanistan for a total of just 139 runs.

New Zealand won the match by a huge margin of 149 runs and also boosted their NRR (net run rate).

Glenn Phillips was chosen as the Player of the Match.
