Rohit Sharma rephrases the records book with his outstanding century against Afghanistan.

Afghanistan was on a tour of India for three T-20I matches.

India already won the series by winning the first two matches, so now it was time to whitewash the Afghanistan team.

Match Details

The third and final T-20I of the series was going to be played in Bengaluru on January 17th.

India won the toss and elected to bat first.

India Innings

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma opened the innings for India.

They weren’t able to give a great start, as Jaiswal lost his wicket in the third over, and Virat also lost his wicket in the same over.

In the next two overs, India got two more breakthroughs as they lost four wickets in just 22 runs.

Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh stood strong and started to form an important innings.

They were both taking the inning slow and adding runs.

As the match went on, Rohit Sharma completed his half-century.

They both shifted the gears in the last five overs as they started to smash outstanding boundaries.

Rohit and Rinku were looking unstoppable as they were taking the innings forward.

Rohit soon completed his century, as by completing his century, he rephrased many records.

By the century, Rohit now has the maximum number of T-20I centuries.

He also recorded his highest total in the T-20I format, and apart from that, he now has the most runs as an Indian captain.

Rohit also has the most 50+ scores, the most sixes, and the highest score by an Indian captain in a T-20I.

With Rohit’s outstanding century and Rinku Singh’s power hitting of 69 runs, India made a total of 212/4.

Afghanistan Innings

Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran opened the innings for Afghanistan.

They both gave a good start to their team as they both played knocks of 50+ runs.

Gulbadin also played a good knock of 55 runs as Afghanistan achieved the same total as India and the match got tied.

First Super Over

Afghanistan batting first made a total of 17 runs as India also made 17 runs, and the match went on to the second super over.

Second Super Over

In the second Super Over, India batted first as Rohit Sharma made 11 runs as Afghanistan needed 12 runs to win the match.

Ravi Bishnoi was called into action as he took two wickets in the first three deliveries as India won the match.
