After enjoying the success of the first edition of the PVL (PRO VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE) owners will try to make a huge impact in it’s another edition. The owner, Volleyball Federation of India and Baseline Ventures will try to make this edition a huge success.
In a first edition where there were 6 teams and the tournament lasted for 21 days

The six-team which were owned by different person and groups. Every team will comprise 12 players including two foreign players, one Indian icon player, and two Indian U-21 players. The first edition of PVL was won by Chennai Spartans. They defeated
Calicut Heroes by 3-0 

The league will be adding two more franchises ahead of the second year. The name of the new teams will be announced soon.

PRO volleyball league is an IPL Styled tournament which was commenced earlier this year. And the owners are now planning to come up with another edition in October-November 2019.

The co-founder of the Baseline Ventures, Tuhin Mishra said that “It’s very humbling to know that PVL has so done well in its first season itself with all the feedback that we have received from sports fans in India, from viewers across the globe and also from VFI and the global body FIVB,”

He also believes that these leagues also spread awareness among the Rural People about the importance of sports.
Earlier, leagues like, IPL (Indian Premier League) PKL (Pro kabaddi league) generate huge profit as the they have mass audience who supports this type of leagues. It will be interesting to see whether PVL will get more success in India or not.

The first Edition was broadcasted across 33 countries and in India, the rights were given to SONY PICTURES ENTERTAINEMENT. More than 1 billion people watched this league the league also initiated the launch of the first time ever globally, a fantasy league for volleyball, which achieved a total of 178,952 active players on the day of the final.
