EasyGov, a SaaS-based platform that aims to improve efficiency, transparency and effectiveness in delivery of government welfare schemes and services, has just raised an undisclosed amount of funding in an angel round.

In this funding round, the company raised funding from Social Alpha, a Tata Trusts initiative. It also witnessed participation of Rajan Anandan and a few other angels whose identities were not disclosed.

With the new cash coming in, the startup is now planning to develop support for local languages, along with enhancing product research and development. Amit Shukla, founder, EasyGov, said,

We will be using the money to develop local language support. We only have English now. A part of the money will also go into product enhancement and research and development.

EasyGov is a cloud solution which enables citizen self-services to avail Government of India’s schemes and services. It provides complete information to facilitate entitlement/rights available from the government.

It claims to have processed over 10,000 service requests in the past 12 months in the Delhi National Capital Region. The startup has developed Aadhaar-based entitlement engine to help check all possible benefits available from various welfare schemes.

Along with government’s welfare schemes, the company has also been expanding its platform to include welfare services offered by NGOs.

The startup is also backed by NASSCOM 10K startup programme. It enables startups to get funding ranging from Rs 25 lakh to Rs 2 crore through angel investor networks, along with 3 to 4 months of incubation at leading incubators, co-working space at affordable cost, among others.

Founded in the year 2015, the company’s mission is to develop a citizen centric IT system and operating model for improving convenience in accessing all Government to Citizen Services across India in three years.
