DPIIT invites applicants for National Startup Awards 2023

To continue the legacy of recognising and honouring a diverse set of startups, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has launched the fourth edition of the National Startup Awards. The DPIIT launched the National Startup Awards (NSA) in 2020 to reward and celebrate excellent startups and enablers in the startup ecosystem that are developing innovative products and exhibiting measurable social impact.

Three editions have acknowledged startups and enablers so far who have significantly advanced the growth of the Indian startup ecosystem. The deadline for entries for the National Startup Awards 2023 is May 31, 2023, and applications are now open as of April 1, 2023.

The fourth edition of NSA 2023 aims to recognize, reward, promote and offer exclusive handholding support to a diverse set of startups. These startups are driving sustainable transformation of the Indian economy and generating measurable impact for the society. NSA 2023 aims to identify, support and connect top startups within the country.

In accordance with “Vision India @2047,” where India focuses on becoming a developed economy and is inspired by the spirit of Amrit Kaal across major themes, the National Startup Awards 2023 will recognise innovations from all throughout the nation.

In this edition, the startups will be awarded across 20 categories, which have been decided upon thorough deliberations on current Indian and global economic focus points. These categories include more impact-focused categories as well as advances in the fields of aircraft, retail, and disruptive technology.

A cash prize of INR 10 lakhs will be awarded by DPIIT to one winning startup in each of the categories. The National Startup Awards winners and finalists will receive special handholding support, including government and investor connections, mentorship, access to international markets, and corporate sponsorship.

The three editions of the National Startup Awards (NSA) witnessed overwhelming participation from startups and ecosystem enablers across the country. Over 6,400 entrepreneurs have actively participated in NSA over the course of three years, and over 450 startups have been named winners or finalists.
