Instagram is now testing its new features often in different parts of the world. Recently, Instagram is testing feature, which shows users how much time they spend on the app. This feature is known as “Usage Insight” and is currently hidden. Instagram is following in the footsteps of Google. Google recently highlighted new tools to help smartphone addicts manage the time they spend using their devices.

The feature lets users know about the time spent by them in the app. Different companies are doing it as a part of “Digital Wellbeing Initiative”. This initiative encourages users to adopt healthier habits like limiting screen time. Jane Wong a computer student, discovered this feature. Mong has a history of uncovering new features in Instagram before they’re rolled out to the public.

The Instagram’s CEO, Kevin Systrom later confirmed this feature.

Google and Facebook-owned Insta thinks that time-management tools could ultimately work in their favor. Moreover, equipping users with mechanisms to help them better to manage their interactions with technology, thereby giving them enough control to make them feel comfortable about their usage.

This feature is not yet confirmed. Also, it is unclear whether the feature will release widely.
