Apple released the iOS 11.4 update late last month. The update included many new features and changes, but it appears to have also brought along a serious problem. The iPhone, seem to attract more battery life complaints than any other device. After the update all users from 6S to iPhone X everyone is complaining about fast battery draining problem.

What is the solution?

The problem seems to be independent of the iPhone model being used. As for workarounds, switching off the Wi-Fi worked in some cases, while connecting to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network (instead of 5GHz) did the trick in others. However, several other users said none of these worked for them, so many of them rolled back to iOS 11.3.1 which made the battery life normal again.

One of the user states, “My iPhone 6s has the same issue after updated to iOS 11.4. I charged it up to 100 percent, rebooted it then let it stand by for 4 hours, the battery indicator dropped to 40 percent. It has been 3 days since I updated to iOS 11.4 and this issue happened every day. In addition, it seems the battery drained fast when my iPhone connected to Wi-Fi. When there was no Wi-Fi connection, the battery draining seems slower or normal.”
For its part, Apple has not yet offered any official word on the matter, but we expect the problem will be resolved in the next iOS update.
