Lenovo launches a new version of K8, called the Lenovo K8 Plus. The device comes with awesome features and futuristic design language.

In terms of build quality and aesthetics,  the device offers premium full metal unibody design just like its predecessor Lenovo K8 Note. The device comes in either Venom Black or Gold colour variant with artistic features like a dedicated music control button (which is re-programmable).

The Lenovo K8 Plus is powered by MediaTek Helio P25 Octa-core SoC, manufactured by TSMC with 16 nm architecture for higher thermal efficiency. 3 GB RAM paired with 32 GB onboard flash storage with a dedicated SD card slot (SIM + SIM + SD card) will make sure that the consumers don’t have to stick their SD card and SIM together (on the Hybrid solution). The Lenovo K8 Plus offers 5.2 inch IPS LCD display with 1080p resolution. To make the screen smudge free, the top layer Corning Gorilla Glass is coated with the oleophobic material.

The cameras on the Lenovo K8 Plus are similar to that of the Lenovo K8 Note. The dual rear-camera setup comes with 13 MP main sensor and a 5 MP depth sensing sensor, the combination of these two sensors should be able to produce photos with DSLR like bokeh effect.  The 8 MP front facing camera is now equipped with its own flash, which should increase the quality of the selfies taken in the low lighting condition. Both cameras do support 1080p video recording capability.

With respect to the operating system, the Lenovo K8 Plus offers Android Nougat 7.1.1 (not the latest 7.1.2) with the vanilla user experience. Stock Android means the user can install whatever the app he is interested. According to Lenovo spokesperson, stock Android will help to push software updates in a timely fashion. One can expect to see this device running on Android Oreo by the end of 2017. For the audiophiles out there, the device does offer Dolby Atmos and TheatreMax technology for the immersive VR experience.

The Lenovo K8 Plus comes with a massive 4000 mAh Li-pol battery with rapid charging capability. According to Lenovo, the phone can play continues 20 hours of video playback and 100 hours of music playback via headphones (display turned off). The device does support reverse charging and USB OTG as well, just like Lenovo K8 Note, the Plus variant still comes with micro USB port for charging and data syncing.

The device will be available from 7th September exclusively on Flipkart. Lenovo promises to deliver better performance and features compared to the rest of the competition. What do you think about this device? Let us know in the comments below?
