On Thursday, Microsoft made an official announcement about its cloud video game service which will debut in the month of September as a feature which will be available to subscribers of the  Xbox Game Pass.

In one of the posts, Phil Spencer who is the Xbox team head stated that at no additional cost for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members the company is bringing Xbox Game Pass and Project xCloud jointly. He also added to it that one will be able to play over 100 Xbox Game Pass titles on your phone or tablet with cloud gaming in Game pass Ultimate.

Access to a library of games for play on Xbox consoles or Windows-powered computers would be provided to all the ultimate subscribers, who pay $15 monthly (roughly Rs. 1,120). Spencer added to it that cloud gaming in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate means your games are no longer locked to the living room.

After the launch of cloud gaming into Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, one can continue the game from wherever it would be left. On July 23, Microsoft would be hosting a streamed even which would showcase games that would be available for play on a new-generation Xbox Series X to launch at the end of this year. Pricing is yet to be announced, but the confirmation for release date took place for the Christmas holiday season next year, when Sony’s PlayStation 5 console would be launched.

PlayStation 4 has currently outsold Xbox by more than two to one, but team of Microsoft is still hoping to take the battle back to Sony, which has yet not revealed about any of the technical details for its own new console. A potential threat is faced by the consoles from the advent pf cloud gaming. However, last year Google has launched its Stadia streaming service, which allows game play on any of the Internet connected devices.

A PlayStation service is present in the Sony Interactive Entertainment which combines cloud gaming and title downloads which has been synched to its latest-generation consoles and Windows-powered personal computers.
