Famous smartphone leaker Evan Blass has confirmed on his official twitter handle that, the next major Android update that is going to be unveiled in few days and will be called after a famous cookie name AKA Android Oreo.
As it is custom to name each Android iterations with a dessert name, Google started teasing with most popular desserts like Orange Juice, Origami, Oatmeal and Oreo. It looks like Google finally settled with Oreo due to its unprecedented worldwide popularity.

New features of Android Oreo:
- Stopping apps displaying over the other apps
- Adaptive notifications dots
- Front, lock-screen and notification changes
- Persistence background apps notifications
- New camera app
- New icon shape (Round to tear drop)
- New battery remaining animation
- Picture-in-picture mode
- Smart text selection
- Autofill
- Vitals – feature that offers better battery life
- Quick setting
- App badges
FYI: All these features may not be present in all Android smartphones running on latest Android Oreo. Only Pixel, Moto, Lenovo, Nokia and any other smartphones with stock user interface will have all the above-mentioned features. If you tend to use Xiaomi, Sony, LG, HTC or Huawei only set of features selected by your OEM will make into your device.

- Pixel & Pixel XL
- Nokia 8
- Moto Z2, Z2 Plus, G5 Plus, G5, M + other moto devices that launched in 2017
- Lenovo K8 note
- All 2017 launches Asus devices (customised OS)
- Galaxy S7, S7 edge, S8 (customised OS)
- LG G5, G6, V20 and V30 (customised OS)
- Sony XZ and XZ premium (customised OS )
- Xiaomi Mi 6, 5X (customised OS )
- HTC U11 (customised OS)
Other than these, few other devices might also receive the upcoming Android Oreo. Don’t dip your phone into the milk after the update.
