The service automatically plays songs that have similar musical traits. After that depending on user’s positive or negative feedback (mainly as thumbs up or thumbs down) for the songs selected by the service. This feedback is then used by the service for the subsequent selection of other songs to play. The service is now not as popular as it once was, but still, it has a fairly sizable number of users. The company has also introduced a new family plan, called as Premium Family to attract more new users. The new plan allows up to six different Pandora accounts to gain access to Premium features for just $14.99 per month.
This new subscription of $14.99 per month (or $164.89 per year) will allow all the six members to get the Premium features of the service. Those Premium features mainly include the ability to choose own music, create radio stations, etc. These features will also allow users to customize playlists, download music for offline listening, skipping and replaying songs at will. The new features will also provide users with higher-quality audio and no annoying ads.
There is another new feature that needs an honorable mention and it is Our Soundtrack. According to the company, our Soundtrack is a regularly-updated playlist created just for user’s family. It combines the musical taste of each person in the user’s family.
