Samsung’s first non-flagship dual camera smartphone is the Samsung Galaxy J7+ and Samsung Galaxy J7 Core. According to the latest information, both devices are available in the Philippines. The Samsung Galaxy J7+ is priced at PHP 19,990 or $390 (INR 24,000) and the Samsung Galaxy J7 Core is priced at PHP 9,990 or $195 (INR 13,000) only. The Galaxy J7+ offer dual-rear camera setup with full metal unibody solution, so, here is the complete set of specifications for these mid-tier smartphones from Samsung.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Core is more of a budget segment Android smartphone, the device is equipped with a standard 5.5-inch 720p Super AMOLED display protected by 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass on the top. Under the hood, the device is powered by energy-efficient Exynos 7870 SoC, paired with 2 GB LPDDR3 RAM and 16 GB onboard flash storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot (up to 128 GB). In terms of operating system, the device runs on a custom version of Android Nougat with Touch Wiz UI on the top.

In terms of camera capability, the device offers a 13 MP rear-facing camera with F/1.9 aperture and 1080p video recording capability. For the selfie enthusiasts, the device offers a 5 MP shooter with wide angle lens and F/2.2 aperture with 720p video recording capability. The device offers dual SIM card slots with 4G LTE and VoLte on both the slots. Standard features like 3.5 mm headphone jack with massive 3000 mAh Li-ion battery with fast charging capability.

The Samsung Galaxy J7+ features high-resolution 5.5-inch full HD 1080p Super AMOLED screen with 2.5D curved tempered glass on the top. The Galaxy J7+ is powered by MediaTek P25 Oct-core SoC paired with 4 GB LPDDR3 RAM and 32 GB onboard flash storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot (up to 128 GB).

In terms of camera capability, the device offers dual rear-camera setup with 13 MP + 5 MP camera solution(normal sensor and a depth-sensing sensor) and a 16 MP front-facing selfie camera with F/1.9 aperture. The front-facing camera also offers its own selfie to improve low light photography. The fingerprint scanner is embedded into the home button, which can be used to unlock the smartphone in just 0.2 seconds.

Features like NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, dual-band WiFi, WiFi Hotspot and dual SIM card slots with 4G LTE and VoLte capability. Finally, the device runs on a custom version of Android Nougat 7.0 with custom UI on the top and the device is entitled to receive an update to Android Oreo in the near future. The device will be available in Black, Gold and Rose Gold colour. However, the device still packs 3000 mAh battery, which is as same as that of the Galaxy J7 Core.

Finally, to conclude thought the Samsung Galaxy J7 Core is a normal handset with a plastic build and normal features, the Samsung Galaxy J7+ offers top of the line specifications with futuristic design language. The only disappointing part about J7+ is that fact that it still uses micro USB as most of the OEM’s at this price point are offering USB type C port.
