Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has reportedly raided a lab of Huawei in San Diego and has also set up a sting operating in Las Vegas at CES in January as a part of the other investigation into one of the Chinese giant technology company Huawei.

The reports about the investigation came shortly after the United States department of justice had charged Huawei and its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Meng Wanzhou with an alleged violation of the US sanctions on Iran, reports according to CNBC. Huawei has been also charged with stealing the international trade secrets from T-Mobile.

According to Sputnik news reports, the fresh investigation deals with the trade secrets and also the violation of the federal regulations around techs with the potential use of it in defence, according to a report by Bloomberg BusinessWeek.

The alleged reports stated executives for Akhan Semiconductor, an electronic component company, assisted an FBI investigation into the alleged attempts by Huawei to steal Akhan’s smartphone glass technology called Miraj. According to Akhan, the glass is six times stronger and also ten times further scratch-resistant that the Gorilla glasses, which is unbreakable because of a layer of artificial diamond that could hold implications for the defence technology.

Executives Adam Khan and Akhan’s chief operations officer, Carl Shurboff, told Bloomberg Businessweek that there has been a secret FBI raid over the Huawei Company’s lab in San Diego.

Khan has suspected that Huawei might have stolen his company’s technology, which made two executives become part of the investigation later.

In a press release on Monday, the company said: “Akhan takes seriously any unlawful use of its technology. The theft of any Akhan assets, attempted or successful, will be not be tolerated. Akhan will continue to cooperate with law enforcement and work towards an expedient resolution to this matter.”
