Pakistan’s foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has on Wednesday said the tensions between Pakistan and India “appear to be de-escalating”.

According to ANI news reports, in a view of the development, Qureshi also stated that the Pakistan government has taken a decision to send back its envoy Sohail Mahmood to New Delhi.

Qureshi was quoted by Geo News as saying: “Tensions between India and Pakistan appear to be de-escalating and this is a positive development.” He added, “Pakistan has further increased diplomatic efforts and we have decided to send back the Pakistani high commissioner to New Delhi.”

Qureshi also reiterated that a team of the delegation will pay a visit to New Delhi to hold talks with the Indian government over the Kartarpur corridor on March 14.

According to a statement issued by the foreign ministry, in a bid to de-escalate tensions with New Delhi, Islamabad has announced on Tuesday that it is sending the high commissioner to India back to New Delhi on Wednesday.

In the wake of the Pulwama terror attack carried out by Pakistan backed and based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terror outfit on February 14 in Jammu & Kashmir, Qureshi was called back to Pakistan for the consultations and he left New Delhi on February 18.
