Increasing friendly relations between US and Japan

Beijing, May 25: United States President Donald Trump has on Friday kicked off his four-day official tour to Japan amid the ongoing trade spat with China and renewed challenges from North Korea.

According to ANI news reports, Trump will mark the visit of a first state guest to Japan after new emperor Naruhito enthroned earlier this month.

During Trump’s visit to Tokyo, he will hold a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, where both leaders are expected to discuss military and trade.

In a tweet, Trump wrote, “Departed the @WhiteHouse and am now on Air Force One with the First Lady heading to Japan and looking forward to honoring, on behalf of the United States, His Majesty, the Emperor of Japan. I will also be discussing Trade and Military with my friend, Prime Minister @AbeShinzo.”

Meanwhile, Japan’s security has been ratcheted up ahead of Trump’s visit. Around 24,000 officers have been mobilized by the Japanese police to provide security to the US president.

The relations between the two East Asian nations- North Korea and China- and the US are going through a disturbing period.

Chinese commerce ministry spokesperson Geo Feng has on Thursday said the United States needs to correct its actions and behave rationally if it wants to resume trade dialogues with Beijing.

Earlier this month, the US President has increased tariffs on Chinese goods worth $200 billion up to 25 percent from the earlier 10 percent rate.
