One of the most talked about decisions of the Trump administration became a reality on Thursday after the house of representatives approved building the controversial border wall on Mexico border. The cost of total packages approves was around ₹53 lakh crores ($826 Billion). Out of the total sanctioned amount, the one which will be used towards building the border wall is around ₹10,000 crores ($1.6 Billion).
Donald Trump was very vocal about building the wall in his presidential campaign. According to Trump, building the wall will help US stop the illegal immigration and supply of drugs from the Mexico. He had, however, promised that the funds needed in building the wall will be sourced out from Mexico, though there is no clarity over this. For the time being, the money will be paid by US tax payers.
The bill was passed in the assembly where 235 legislators voting in favour and 192 voting against it. The US Senate is currently governed by Republicans. The bill will now be approved by the senate before it finally reaches to the president for final approval.
Though the Republicans have been in support of such a move, the Democrats have been opposing the move stating that the immoral decision of the US government will cost a lot of money to the US taxpayers.
