The United States President Donald Trump has on Friday, threatened to “entirely” shut the southern US border along with Mexico border if US lawmakers fail to provide him fund in order to finish the construction of wall.
According to news reports, Trump’s warning comes after the US government partial shutdown dragged into next consecutive week, with the senate and Democrats failing to reach to an outcome while compromising over Trump’s demand funding for a border wall between the US and Mexico.
In fact, the Republican president has also reiterated his threats to cut off all the US aids to El Salvador, Honduran and Guatemala, which he believes were doing nothing to stop the flow of migrants into the US via border.
In a tweet, Trump wrote: “We will be forced to close the Southern Border entirely if the Obstructionist Democrats do not give us the money to finish the Wall & also change the ridiculous immigration laws that our Country is saddled with.”
Trump added: “Either we build (finish) the Wall or we close the Border.”
According to news reports, both of the US congress chambers had a met on Thursday, but only for few minutes and took no further steps regarding to put an end to the closure. The Senate and White House will hold a meet again on Monday. Many US lawmakers did not returned back for the sessions in Washington.
