The Food Street or the Khau Galli located near Sajjan Rao circle, V V Puram is a must visit for all the food lovers. The street is also known as Thindi Beedi which means Food Street in Kannada. It is a place, which is existing from many decades. It presents you with different cuisines; right from the Chinese cuisines to the local Akki Roti is served there. The street is very crowded and hence one must be prepared for it. The shops may not offer you the seats but, eating out on the street will definitely leave you with an exhilarating experience. It feels good when we step out from our comfort zone and attempt vivid things for a different experience.
Definite things to try:
The masala dosa, generously doused in the ghee.
Thatte idly, Akki Roti
Bondas and bhajjis
Puran Poli
Paav bhaaji
Paranthas
Gobi Manchurian
Chat items
Fresh bread and cakes
Ice – creams with exotic fruits and gulkand
Masala Pepsi
The above are some of the items which I have personally tried out and found them very delicious. I loved the typical South Indian food, which I found little spicy, but loved the taste. There are various stalls in the street which I am yet to try out. The best time to visit the food street is between 6.00 pm – 11.00 pm where the street is decorated with colorful lights, aroma of food can be sensed and bunch of hoggers can be witnessed . The quality food is served to the visitors at an economical price.
