Apple has launched iPad Pro globally on 20th April at Apple’s Spring Loaded event. The new series of iPad Pro will be powered by the Apple M1 chipset, the same chipset that we’ve seen on the last year’s MacBooks.

The display on the new line-up features ProMotion, which basically means 120Hz refresh rate, along with 5G connectivity.

Apple iPad Pro 2021 Specifications

The new iPad Pro 2021 draws power from Apple’s M1 octa-core chipset. The chipset is a powerhouse CPU designed for MacBook laptops. Apple claims that the M1 SoC on the iPad Pro can deliver up to 50-percent faster performance as compared last generation of iPad Pro, which is powered by an A12Z Bionic chip.

The GPU performance of the new iPad Pro has increased by 40-percent as compared to the previous generation. The tablet runs on iOS from Apple.

Coming to the display, the iPad Pro 2021 will be offered in two models- 11-inch and 12.9-inch sizes. The 12.9-inch model sports a Liquid Retina XDR mini-LED display that comes with 10,000 LEDs and a 2,732 x 2,048 pixels resolution.

The display features ProMotion, P3 wide color support, and a peak brightness of 1,600 nits for HDR. On the other hand, the 11-inch model boasts a Liquid Retina display with a resolution of 2,388 x 1,668 pixels with ProMotion and P3 wide color support. It has Dolby Vision support and HDR.

As for the cameras, the tablets come with a dual-camera setup at the rear with a 12MP primary sensor with a wide-angle lens and f/1.8 aperture and a 10MP sensor with an ultra-wide lens, f/2.4 aperture, and 125-degree field of view. The rear camera module also features a LiDAR sensor. Upfront, the tablets come with a 12MP wide-angle lens with f/2.4 aperture and 122-degree field of view.

The tablet ships with a 20W power adaptor with a USB Type-C port, quad-speaker setup, and Face ID. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Bluetooth v5, USB Type-C thunderbolt port, which the company claims has bumped the bandwidth for wired connections by 4 times. The tablets also feature support for the latest Xbox and PS5 controllers. The 11-inch iPad Pro weighs 470 grams, while the elder sibling weighs 685 grams.

Apple iPad Pro 2021 Price

iPad Pro 2021 will be offered in two color options- Silver and Space Grey. The 11-inch iPad Pro model starts from $799 (Rs. 60,300) for the Wi-Fi variant and $999 (Rs. 75,400) for the Wi-Fi and Cellular model globally. On the other hand, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro starts from $1,099 (Rs. 82,900) for the Wi-Fi model and $1,299 (Rs. 98,000) for the Wi-Fi and Cellular model globally. The tablets will be available in five storage options- 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB.

In India, the 11-inch iPad Pro starts from Rs. 71,900 for the 128GB Wi-Fi model and Rs. 85,900 for the 128GB Wi-Fi and Cellular model. On the contrary, the 12.9-inch model starts from Rs. 99,900 for the 128GB Wi-Fi model and Rs. 1,13,900 for the Wi-Fi and Cellular model.

The pre-orders for the iPad Pro 2021 will begin from April 30 and will be up for grabs from mid-May across 31 countries, including India.
