Skoda Octavia has got a lot of potentials to bring the executive sedan segment back on track. The last-gen model of the sedan did that for the carmaker and now, it looks like that the 2021 Skoda Octavia is here to do the same. The new design language is undoubtedly very subjective. But talking about the practicality quotient, it is better than ever.

The ongoing pandemic created a lot of havoc. As a result, this highly anticipated launch was rescheduled several times. Finally, the Czech carmaker has launched the all-new Skoda Octavia in India with a price tag of Rs.25.99 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Planning to buy the updated Octavia? We have covered some important details for you.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Updated Skoda Octavia is now available in India at Rs.25.99 Lakh onwards.
  • The all-new sedan comes powered by a 190HP, 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine.

Exterior & Design

Ever thought about how staggering simple things can ever look? If not, then the all-new Skoda Octavia is here with a reminder.

To begin with, Skoda has ditched the old split headlamp setup. In fact, it is now available with conventional LED headlights and DRLs. Also, the edges of the updated sedan are sharper with a revised tailgate and large ‘SKODA’ lettering. Even in the terms of options, it gets multiple colour shades on offer.

Interior

As expected, the Czech carmaker has discontinued several physical buttons. Instead, touch keys for smoother operations will do the duties for the same.

The dashboard of the 2021 Skoda Octavia does feel premium with a 10-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system but it is the ambient lighting running all across that makes the overall cabin even better. Also, on the driver’s side of the car, there is a two-spoke multi-functional steering wheel behind which sits a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster with a lot of soft-touch materials as standard.

Apart from this, several features such as two-zone climate control, wireless charger, 12-speaker Canton surround sound system and powered front seats will be available according to the variants. The updated sedan is said to miss the sunroof even on the top-spec L&K variant.

To be precise, it is truly capable of producing a massive 190HP and 320Nm of peak torque while being mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Looking for a diesel engine? Well, Skoda has confirmed that the company has no intention to reintroduce diesel motors, especially in India.

Coming back to the petrol engine onboard, customers can expect a mileage of 15.81kmpl (ARAI certified).
