Sad day for enthusiasts but everyone knows, what comes on this earth has to leave one day. It’s true that Honda has decided to introduce the NSX one last time but as the brand claims, the limited-run NSX Type S is the “most exhilarating NSX produced till date”. Frankly speaking, it is not coming to India and neither it will be launched in the European markets. To be precise, Honda has already allotted 300 units of these sportscars for the US market while the other 50 units will be offered to the customers in Japan.

So why are we even talking about it? Well, some cars really deserve that one last goodbye and if it is the Honda NSX then we as a community should definitely offer a final farewell to this amazing sportscar.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Honda has introduced the ultimate NSX Type S at $169,500.
  • It will be powered by a 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine.
  • Only 350 units of the Honda NSX Type S will be introduced.

The design is new and therefore, one can call it the second-gen NSX. Taking it as a golden opportunity, Honda has decided to offer the new sportscar with a revised splitter, large air intakes, carbon fibre roof and a similarly treated diffuser. Unlike the outgoing model, this one now runs on wider 5-spoke forged alloy wheels that come with Pirelli P Zero rubber.

Surprisingly, customers who can spend $13,000 more on the Lightweight package will get a carbon fibre engine cover and carbon-ceramic discs that trims the overall weight by around 26.2 kgs. The sportier seats inside the cabin will be available as standard with NSX and Type S lettering embossed on each of them.

Honda NSX Type S without the Lightweight pack will get Brembo brakes that perform decently on this powerful sportscar. Even the suspension setup when compared to the outgoing model has been retuned for more precision in terms of ride and handling.
