Exterior and Design

On the outside, the grille has been updated and surprisingly, that’s the most interesting change on the new Glanza. Apart from this, the bumper has been revised, the DRLs now features a slightly different shape and a new set of 16-inch alloy wheels replaces the one available on the new Baleno.

Available in five colour shades, including Red, Silver, Grey, Blue and White, it even offers an individual experience to every buyer.

Interior

The interior of the new Glanza will definitely remind you of the updated Baleno. However, just to differentiate, the carmaker has replaced the steering badge and is also offering a dual-tone finishing for the dashboard.

Feature-wise, it is loaded with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 360-degree camera, heads-up display, automatic climate control, rear AC vents and a multifunction steering wheel depending upon the variant.

For occupants’ safety, the updated Glanza is available with ABS, ISOFIX child seat mounts, hill hold control and up to six airbags.

Engine

Just like the outgoing model, the 2022 Glanza is powered by a 1.2-litre four-cylinder K series petrol engine. The maximum output from this unit is currently rated at 89PS and 114Nm while being paired to a manual or an AMT gearbox.

One thing that is attracting a lot of attention is that Toyota is claiming that the manual variants are capable of returning overall fuel efficiency of 22.35kmpl. Meanwhile, the automatic variants are offering a slightly better mileage that stands somewhere around 22.94kmpl.

2 thought on “2022 Toyota Glanza Finally Make Its Debut In India, Looks Striking Enough!”
  1. Hey Harsh, really nice info about the car but
I had certain queries regarding this car:
1)Will it have the same built quality as the previous-gen glanza?
2)What is the warranty that is being given by the company? and
3)Do u think will it be offered in 1.5L diesel engine in near future?

    1. Hello Awesh,

That’s great to know. See, the new Glanza is entirely based upon the new Baleno and this time, the carmaker’s PR team is claiming that they have used a higher percentage of tensile steel and there’s a significant increase in the overall weight too. Same goes with Glanza as well. So, we can say that it is better than the older one. Let’s see how it performs at the Global NCAP.

Secondly, apart from the cosmetic changes, Toyota is solely playing on the warranty part to differentiate it from the new Baleno. When compared to Maruti Suzuki’s 2 year/40,000 km warranty on Baleno, Toyota is offering 3 year/1,00,000 km warranty on the Glanza as standard. Customers are also free to extend them by spending a few extra bucks.

Answering your last query, the cost of manufacturing diesel engines is higher when compared to the petrol ones. Also, the introduction of BS6 emission norms is a big reason why diesel engines are no more reliable. Since almost every carmaker is shifting toward electrification or similar cleaner fuels, the chances of diesel engines returning are seriously very low.

Hope your query is solved. Thanks for supporting!
