Here, we are going to compare the long wheelbase version with the standard E-Class to give you a clearer picture. Starting with the design, the front and rear profile is similar to the regular E-Class that was revealed earlier, but to differentiate, the German marque has quite stretched the luxury saloon to such an extent that it now measures 5092mm. As claimed by Mercedes-Benz, this is 143 mm longer when compared to the new generation regular E-Class. The wheelbase of the E-Class LWB stands at a massive 3094mm.

Inside the cabin, the E-Class was perfect in the front row and somewhat in the back row as well. But, with the arrival of the LWB version Mercedes has tried to solve the legroom issue and it now feels ample. Of course, the long wheelbase will not be able to offer comfort similar to the flagship model, the S-Class. However, the carmaker did not even try to match that, otherwise, it would have been an S-Class killer.

Feature-wise, the new E-Class LWB remain similar to the standard model with three integrated screens on the dashboard. Here, the first one is reserved for a 12.2-inch fully digital driver’s display, the second one for a 14.4-inch infotainment system and the third one for the co-passenger. The infotainment system available on the E-Class uses the brand’s third-generation MBUX operating system with various artificial intelligence features to make it smarter than before.

Under the hood, it will get the same engine options that were available on the outgoing model. However, the top-spec variant of the E-Class LWB is expected to come with a six-cylinder diesel engine as standard. Other than this the carmaker will also offer rear-wheel steering and air suspension for added convenience.
