Renault first introduced the Triber in 2019. It was a revolution back then. Revolution? But it was the Datsun Redi GO+ that first introduced as a 7-seater MUV. That’s true. Apart from Datsun, nobody would have ever thought to introduce a car that sits on the entry-level segment but offers a 7-seater layout. But again, Renault took this challenge. The French carmaker managed to pack the Triber so well, that the family is now 75,000 units strong.

Renault has recently revealed the 2021 Triber in India. And, mind you, it is not at all a boring MUV anymore. It packs almost every feature that any modern car will offer in today’s world. Apart from that, the 7-seater continues to offer practicality which was its ulterior motive from the very beginning.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Renault India has sold over 75,000 units of Renault Triber till now.
  • The carmaker earlier revealed the 2021 Renault Triber for the Indian market.
  • It continues to come with a 72PS, 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine.

Renault Triber

First thing first, the all-new Triber now comes with multiple dual-tone colour schemes. In terms of design, the updated MUV remains similar to the outgoing counterpart. However, the side indicators from the fenders are now placed on the wing mirrors.

Apart from this, the French carmaker has also introduced a new colour scheme called Cedar Brown. But with this new entry, the older Fiery Red shade has been discontinued. Other colour schemes including:

  • Electric Blue,
  • Metal Mustard,
  • Moonlight Silver, and
  • Ice Cool White

These colours are also available with a mystery black coloured roof as a dual-tone colour scheme. However, to opt for the dual-tone variant, customers need to pay a premium of Rs.17,000.

In terms of features, the 2021 Triber comes equipped with a multi-functional steering wheel, fully digital instrument cluster, 6-way adjustable driver seat and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system just to name a few. Safety features including dual airbags, a speed alert system, EBD, etc. among others are a part of the updated MUV.

Under the hood, it is still available with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine. It is capable of producing a decent 72PS of power and 96Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. However, customers can opt for an AMT gearbox as well.

Alternatives

In India, Renault Triber goes head-on against the likes of Datsun GO+. Therefore, just take a look at what its rival has got to offer.

When compared to the 2021 Triber, Datsun GO+ is cheaper by Rs.1.05 Lakh margin. However, it is the Renault Triber that is more practical and brings peace of mind to its customers.
