Sportbikes might not be as comfortable as a tourer or maybe a commuter. But, they are considerably fast and good looking when compared to any of them. With the introduction of the RC range in India, KTM reintroduced the trend for sportbikes with lower displacement.

Sadly, the Austrian bike manufacturer has discontinued the KTM RC 390 by removing it from the official website. But, here is good news for all the bike enthusiasts. KTM is almost ready to introduce the next generation RC 390 in India. And, the upcoming bike is expected to roll out in the country anytime soon.

The next-generation bike is expected to get a total transformation. Wondering what all changes can be seen on the all-new RC 390? Well, heading straightaway to answer that.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • KTM has discontinued the current generation KTM RC 390.
  • The Austrian bike manufacturer has removed it from the official website.
  • Next-generation KTM RC 390 is expected to replace the outgoing one soon.

What to expect from the next-generation KTM RC 390?

The next-gen motorcycle has been spied multiple times. Meanwhile, on the basis of spy shots, we expect it to come with a totally revised front fascia. To be precise, the 2021 KTM RC 390 will now be getting a redesigned LED headlamp. Just for a reference, this setup will remain similar to what we have earlier seen on the RC8 superbike.

Another significant change on the updated bike is the ergonomics. It will now get a more upright seating position when compared to the outgoing variant. This way, the all-new KTM RC 390 is expected to be more user friendly. Other changes in terms of design include a muscular fuel tank, revamped seats, wider rear cowl and new exhaust set up just to name a few. Also, a new TFT instrument cluster similar to what we see on the Duke 390 is expected to be a part of the features list.

Just like the older one. Even the upcoming RC 390 will be powered by a 373cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. Earlier, it used to produce 43HP @ 9000 RPM and 37Nm @ 7000 RPM while being mated to a 6-speed gearbox. However, this time, this same engine might be offered with a different tune.

The outgoing version of the KTM RC 390 carried a premium price tag of Rs.2.75 Lakhs (Ex-showroom, Delhi). Therefore, expect the upcoming bike to be priced between Rs.2.80 Lakhs to Rs.2.85 (ex-showroom).

Alternatives

In India, there are no direct rivals to the KTM RC 390. However, in terms of price, it competes against the likes of Kawasaki Ninja 300 and TVS Apache RR 310. Interestingly, TVS all set to introduce the updated Apache RR 310 for the Indian market by the end of this month. So, let us take a look at what the current generation bike has to offer.
