Being the first fully electric performance car from the brand, the all-new BMW i4 M50 does feel like a newbie. There is nothing like it is not tried and tested. After all, the involvement of the brand’s M division is itself a stamp of trust and precision.

Powertrain & Performance

For starters, it is a four-door coupe that looks absolutely stunning just like any other BMW. But what is even interesting is that it comes equipped with twin electric motors that further enhances the overall power delivery to a greater extent. To put everything in numbers, the combined output from both of them stands at 544HP and 795Nm of peak torque.

These exact power figures will not be available all the time just to make it more efficient. However, just enable the Sport Boost mode and there it can go from standstill to 100kmph in just 3.9 seconds.

Range

Performance does have a negative impact on the entire range. Therefore, expect the BMW i4 M50 to return a claimed range of somewhere around 500kms (WLTP cycle). There is even an entry-level variant of i4 and to be precise, it is available with a range of 590kms (WLTP cycle). Surprisingly, both the variant comes with an 83.9kWh battery pack.

Not much has changed inside the cabin like any other BMW. To sum up everything, it remains very similar to the regular 4 series with a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster and 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system on offer.

Price

Currently, BMW UK has priced the all-new i4 M50 at £63,905. The German carmaker has also announced a 12-month charging subscription for retail customers.

Alternatives

Globally, the intention behind revealing the all-new BMW i4 M50 is to place it against Tesla Model 3 Performance. Want to know how tough this competition is? Check out the details down below.
