HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Ducati Panigale V2 Bayliss Edition is now available in India.
  • Comes powered by a 955cc twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled unit.
  • Also receives several cosmetic and hardware enhancements.

Ducati Panigale V2 Bayliss Edition

Based on the Ducati 996 R that Troy Bayliss rode back in 2001, the special edition Panigale V2 looks absolutely striking from all four ends.

Since it is a special edition sports bike, the brand has decided to offer several premium components to push exclusivity to another level. Starting at the front, the handle clamp now features the number and edition name. Apart from this, the livery also reminds you of the race-winning machine with ’21’ embossed at the front and either side.

Unlike the regular model, the Bayliss edition is being offered with an NX30 front fork and TTX36 monoshock unit by Ohlins. As claimed by the brand, this is a proper track weapon with a 3kg reduced weight.

Talking about the features, even this one is loaded with a 4.3-inch coloured TFT display. Other features such as cornering ABS, traction control, engine brake control, tyre calibration and self-cleaning braking system is also a part of the equipment list.

For enhanced sportiness, Bayliss Edition is also equipped with a carbon fibre exhaust cover. Interestingly, the fuel tank also features the signature of Troy Bayliss alongside the exact years when he won the championship.

Powering this sports bike is still a potent 955cc twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. The overall output from this power unit is currently rated at 152.9 horsepower and 104Nm while being paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. For added convenience, it also gets a quick shifter as standard. The three ride modes, just to adjust power and driving dynamics, are still available.

Alternatives

Currently, there’s no direct rival to the all-new Panigale V2 Bayliss Edition available in India. However, at this price point, several other 1000cc sports bikes such as BMW S 1000 RR, Suzuki Hayabusa and Kawasaki ZX-10R are available. Want to learn more about the S 1000 RR?
