Nissan X-Trail has received massive makeovers with time. Earlier, it used to look like a conventional SUV that frequently wants to go off the road. However, over the past few years, people are recognising it more as a family SUV. Ofcourse, that does not make it any less capable off the road.

But then, it does not even feel like a quintessential SUV anymore. When compared to third-generation X-Trail not much has changed in terms of design except a few minor tweaks on the front fascia. However, this time, the Japanese brand has introduced Nissan’s ProPilot autonomous driving system to the updated X-Trail.

Is it coming to India? Well, straightaway heading to answer that.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Nissan has showcased the fourth generation Nissan X-Trail at the Shanghai Motor Show 2021.
  • It will now be available with some minor cosmetic updates including a V-shaped grille at the front.
  • The Japanese carmaker has introduced Nissan’s ProPilot autonomous driving system on the X-Trail.

For starters, Nissan X-Trail is called Rogue in the US market. As a part of the update, the SUV now gets a sculpted bonnet hood, slimmer looking LED headlamps, separate LED DRLs, large air dams and a skid plate finished in silver. The side profile of X-Trail features roof rails, sportier alloy wheels, large wheel arches and chrome black wing mirrors. At the back, LED taillamps and tailgate with ‘Nissan’ badging continues to be a part of the updated SUV.

Inside the cabin, it is available with a 7-seater layout. However, users can fold the third row to extend the boot space further. Feature-wise, it comes with a multifunctional steering wheel, wireless charging pad, automatic climate control, fully digital instrument cluster and a large touchscreen infotainment system just to name a few. Also, as mentioned earlier the all-new X-Trail will now come equipped with ProPilot Driver’s assistance system.

For enhanced safety, Nissan offers multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, seat belt alarm, parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat mounts, etc. among others.

Under the hood, the 2021 Nissan X-Trail will be available with an ePower hybrid powertrain. The carmaker has not revealed any details regarding the same yet. However, will be coming up with an all-wheel drive powertrain for sure. According to the sources, Nissan is expected to bring this SUV to India as well.
