The new Sportz (O) variant is based on the regular Sportz variant but is Rs.35,000 expensive when compared to the regular variant. The reason behind it? Well, for that money, the hatchback features an electric sunroof and a wireless charger. Also, the cabin’s premium feel is now enhanced by using leather treatment on the door armrests. These are some updates that were earlier found on the top-end Asta variant only.

Under the hood, the new i20 Sportz (O) comes powered by a reliable 1.2-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that churns 82 horsepower and 115Nm of peak torque. Thankfully, the new variant is offered with both manual and automatic transmissions, offering customers the option to choose a gearbox according to their requirements.

Another highlight of the i20 Sportz (O) is that is available with dual-tone colour options, but sadly, the dual-tone models are priced a little higher when compared to the standard variants.

In India, Hyundai i20 continues its rivalry with similar hatchbacks. The list includes some big names, including Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Tata Altroz and Toyota Glanza, among others.
