The automotive world sometimes is difficult to understand while many of the times, it just flows. The data for January 2024 is out and in terms of sales, Maruti Suzuki Baleno has bagged the top spot. Surprisingly, it is the Tata Punch that clinched the second place with an increase of around 50% when compared to January 2023.

Another interesting pattern that can be seen is that around 7 cars/SUVs are from Maruti Suzuki in the top 10 best cars/SUVs sold, marking its domination in the Indian market.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Maruti Suzuki Baleno was the best seller in Jan 2024.
  • Tata Punch holds the second spot with 17,978 units sold.
  • Maruti Suzuki remains the strongest in terms of sales.

Other models such as Wagon R, Dzire, Swift, Brezza, Ertiga and Fronx were almost among the top 10 best sellers. To dive deep into the numbers again, MS India sold 17,756 units of Wagon R, 16,773 units of Dzire, 15,370 units of Swift, 15,303 units of Brezza, 14,632 units of Ertiga and 13,643 units of Fronx to be precise.

The second best-selling model for January 2024 was Tata Punch. When compared to January 2023, the sales numbers are almost up by 50% and stands at 17,978 units. Then, even Tata Nexon managed to be the fourth best-seller with 17,182 units sold.

Thankfully, even Mahindra is there on the top 10 list with both Mahindra Scorpio N and Classic. Both the SUVs have cumulatively managed to sell well with the number standing at 14,293 units. The sales of these SUVs have improved by a massive 64% when compared to the January 2023 numbers.

Sadly, the Hyundai Creta could not make it to the top ten but is the 12th most-sold car/SUV in January 2024. The sales for the same have declined by 12% when compared to the similar period of 2023.
