HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Maruti Suzuki has finally launched the 2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift in India.
  • It will be retailed with a starting price tag of Rs.5.73 Lakh onwards (ex-showroom).
  • Multiple updates and additional dual-tone colors are the key highlights.

Maruti Suzuki Swift Facelift Updates

Starting with the design language, the 2021 Swift is now available with a new grille finished in a honeycomb pattern. This newly designed grille replaces the older one that featured horizontal slats. However, another addition to this grille is the large chrome strip that sits just above the number plate housing. Also, the all-new Maruti Suzuki Swift comes with three dual-tone color schemes including:

  • Solid Fire Red with Pearl Midnight Black
  • Pearl Arctic White with Pearl Midnight Black and
  • Pearl Midnight Metallic Blue with Pearl Arctic White.

In terms of feature updates, Swift facelift now gets a redesigned instrument cluster, auto foldable wing mirrors, 7-inch touchscreen SmartPlay Studio and cruise control among others. Also, the revised instrument cluster now features a 4.2-inch colored MID display. This list does not end here as SmartPlay Studio supports Smartphone connectivity that includes Android Auto as well as Apple CarPlay.

Maruti Suzuki has also worked on the safety parameters and the updated Swift now comes with a hill hold assist and Electronic Stability Control. However, these two safety features will only be available on the AMT variants. With a bigger set of disc brakes, the 2021 Swift now seems to be more sure-footed.

Further, other safety features such as seat belt reminders, ISOFIX child mounts, ABS and EBD will be available across all variants as standard.

Engine

Under the hood, the Maruti Suzuki Swift facelift will now get a 1.2-litre DualJet petrol motor. It is capable of producing a massive 88BHP of power @ 6000 RPM and 113 Nm of torque @ 4200 RPM.

However, transmission duties on the updated car will be handled by either a manual or an AMT gearbox. Apart from the updated engine, it also comes with the Idle Start/Stop system that makes it a more fuel-efficient hatchback for sure.
