Exterior & Design

Jaguar has reworked some of the major aspects for proper cooling and improved aerodynamic efficiency. The lower half of the front bumper is now available with larger air intakes for proper airflow. Talking about the front profile, the new F-Pace SVR also gets a slimmer pair of LED headlamps with DRLs. Other than this larger alloy wheels will further enhance the upmarket feel.

Interior

Air purifier is as important as any other feature because of the ongoing pandemic. Therefore the carmaker has introduced an air ioniser with PM2.5 filtration. Just like the updated F-Pace, even the SVR model with JLR Group’s latest 11.4-inch curved glass Pivi Pro touchscreen infotainment system. As required buyers will be able to update this system via OTA technology. Other features including an optional wireless charger, a 3D bird-eye camera and additional storage spaces among others will further enhance the overall practicality. Also, the old rotary dial has now been replaced by a proper gear knob.

Engine & Powertrain

Under the hood, a powerful 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine is there to churn out a massive 550HP and 700Nm of peak torque. The power figures reflect some minor updates but transmission duties on the other hand is managed by the older 8-speed automatic gearbox.

As a result, this overall output translates to a 0-100kmph sprint in just 4 seconds. A top speed of 286kmph will definitely act as a cherry on the cake for the upcoming Jaguar F-Pace owners. The performance can also be altered using different drive modes such as Comfort and Dynamic among others.

Alternatives

Currently, there are no direct rivals to the Jaguar F-Pace SVR in India. However, in terms of performance, it will compete against the likes of BMW X3 M.

BMW X3 M

The all-new BMW X3 M uses a 3.0-litre, TwinPower Turbo, six-cylinder engine. Putting everything in numbers, this motor propels 473HP and 600Nm of peak torque while being mated to an 8-speed Steptronic gearbox. Coming to the performance, it can clock a triple-digit speed in just 4.2 seconds making it slower by just 0.2 seconds when compared to the Jaguar F-Pace SVR.
