The first-generation Hyundai Creta was a megahit for the Korean brand. Ultimately, even the next-gen model carried a lot of responsibility on its shoulders to continue this legacy.

According to the recent sales report, Creta has passed the experiment with flying colours and just to be precise, the carmaker has already sold over 6,00,000 units of it since its inception. Planning to buy a one? Here are some important details about the SUV you should know.

Exterior and Design

The new Creta is something distinctive and quirky on the road. Long bonnet hood with muscular creases, cascading grille, wide air vents, trio beam LED headlamps and chrome door handles will of course take some time to get familiar with.

Coming to the side profile, this compact SUV is available with diamond cut alloy wheels, puddle lamps and auto foldable ORVMs.

Multiple colour shades are there for the customers. The list includes eight monotone colours, precisely – Polar White, Red Mulberry, Deep Forest, Galaxy Blue, Typhoon Silver, Phantom Black, Titan Grey and Lava Orange. Also, there are two dual-tone colour schemes including Lava Orange with Black roof and Polar White with Black roof.

Interior

The cabin of the Hyundai Creta feels absolutely premium and is even feature loaded. Modern features such as a large panoramic sunroof, multi-function flat-bottom steering wheel, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, 17.78-inch digital semi-digital instrument cluster, rear AC vents and a wireless charger among others.

Engine & Powertrain

Again, in terms of practicality, Creta has always been the winner. The second-generation model gets a 1.5-litre diesel engine that churns out a decent 115PS of power and 250Nm of torque while being mated to a 6-speed manual or an automatic gearbox.

The list ends here? Not at all. There are two more engines available and to be precise, a 115PS, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 140PS, 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine are there to add more practicality. The first one comes mated to either a 6-speed manual or an iVT gearbox. Unlike the above-mentioned ones, the turbo engine only gets a 7-speed DCT gearbox as standard.
