Tata Motors has revealed the all-new Tata Altroz iTurbo in India to offer that extra punch with practicality. The carmaker will start the pre-bookings for the recently launched turbo variant from tomorrow against a token amount of Rs.11,000. Meanwhile, the price list will be announced on the day of launch itself. So what’s new on the Tata Altroz iTurbo? As the performance hatchback is all set to launch in three top spec variants, precisely – XT, XZ and XZ+, it will be available with all the features that are available on the top end variant of the regular Tata Altroz. Further, a 1.2L turbocharged engine and an all-new Harbour Blue color scheme will be offered on the upcoming hatchback.

Tata Altroz iTurbo Features

Based on the top spec variants, Tata Altroz iTurbo will come with plethora of features such as automatic climate control, rain sensing wipers, Harman surround sound system, Xpress cooling, ambient lighting, etc. among others. Meanwhile, there is a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto as well as Apple CarPlay.

Engine

Coming to the major highlight, it is powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that churns out 110PS of power @ 5500 RPM. Further, the peak torque of the all-new Tata Altroz iTurbo stands at 140Nm @ 1500-5000 RPM. Right now, this motor is only available with a 5-speed manual gearbox along with two drive modes on offer, precisely – City and Sport. Whereas, it can do a 0-100kmph sprint in just 11.9 seconds and returns a mileage of around 18.13kmpl as claimed by the company itself.

Alternatives

Tata Motors will launch the Tata Altroz iTurbo on 22nd January. Meanwhile, when launched, it will compete against the likes of Volkswagen Polo and Hyundai i20. For instance, Volkswagen Polo comes with a 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine 108BHP of power and 175Nm of torque of torque. On the other hand, Hyundai i20 Turbo‘s 1.0L turbocharged motor can produce 120HP with a peak torque of 172Nm.
