Exterior

Coming to the Toyota Fortuner facelift, it will now come with an updated front fascia with a new pair of headlights with DRLs. Further, there is a newly designed – bumper, grille and a set of 18-inch alloy wheels that looks massive on the updated SUV. At the back, the only difference one might be able to notice is the slightly sleeker taillamps that are now LED units.

Meanwhile, the sportier edition Legender comes with a distinct pair of headlights with DRLs. Apart from this, even the front bumper, alloy wheels, grille along with the black finishing across the SUV allows you to differentiate between the regular variant and the Legender variant. Further, only the Pearl White color scheme with a Black colored roof will be available on the sportier edition.

Interior

As we enter the cabin the all-new Toyota Fortuner does feel premium with some minor cosmetic updates. The 2021 Fortuner now comes with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay as well as Android Auto. Further, it gets a new multi-information display, 8-way power-adjustable seats, JBL surround sound system, ventilated seat for front passengers, etc. Likewise, the cabin of the Toyota Fortuner Legender remains almost the same. However, the Legender variant comes with an electrically powered tailgate.

Engine & Powertrain

So what powers the all-new Toyota Fortuner? It is the same 2.7L petrol engine alongside the 2.8L diesel engine that powers the Fortuner facelift. The 2.7L petrol unit produces 166HP along with a peak torque of 245Nm. Meanwhile, the later 2.8L diesel motor churns out a massive 204HP and 500Nm of torque. Both the engines are available with a manual as well as an automatic transmission.

Surprisingly, Toyota Fortuner Legender being the most premium version is only available with a diesel engine along with a two-wheel drive powertrain.

Rivals

In India, the 2021 Toyota Fortuner, Legender will go against the likes of Ford Endeavour, Mahindra Alturas G4 and recently launched MG Gloster. Meanwhile, the only matter of concern right now is the price point as the top-end variant is now costlier by Rs.3,00,000 when compared to the outgoing one.
