Bandhan Bank, which was once a micro-finance company, got its banking license by RBI in 2014. The bank has opened 840 branches all across the country in different states. They are now targeting to open 160 branches to reach the 1000- mark by the end of this financial year (2017-18).

Chandra Shekhar Ghosh, Managing Director, and Chief Executive while confirming the news said: “We are planning to open more branches at different locations and reach the 1000-mark by the end of this financial year (2017-18)”. Besides Ghosh, British Deputy High Commissioner of Kolkata and former CEO of Prasar Bharati Jawhar Sircar were present on the occasion.

Apart from opening new branches, they are also ambitious to introduce mutual fund and insurance service by the end of this September. Since 2001, the organization has benefited lives of 1.7 million families across 11 states of India.

Meanwhile, Bandhan-Konnagar, which is the first venture of Ghosh has worked in different spheres of education, health, and women empowerment for the betterment of the society.
