Reliance Power announces a total income of ₹2371 cr and a net profit of ₹237 cr, a 3% increase from ₹231 cr during the same quarter last fiscal. With, however, the total income stood at ₹2752 cr during that fiscal.

Q1 Power plant metrics

The 3,960 MW Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project (Sasan UMPP) in Madhya Pradesh has achieved a highest-ever quarterly PLF of 98%. Sasan coal production is at 4.43 million tonnes. The 1,200 MV Rosa Power Plant in Uttar Pradesh generated 1659 million units and operated at a PLF of 63%.

The 40 MW Dhursar Solar PV Plant in Rajasthan operated at 21% and generated 18.2 million units. The 45 MW Wind Power Project in Maharashtra operated at a PLF of 18% while another plant in Maharashtra, the 600 MW Butibori Power Plant operated at a PLF of 45%. The 100 MW Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) project in Rajasthan generated 31 million units of power.

PLF – Plant Load Factory (PLF) is the ratio between the actual energy generated by the plant to the maximum possible energy that can be generated with the plant working at its rated power and for a duration of one year.

Overall performance

Though there has been an increase of 3% in net profits, Reliance Power performed better in the last quarter. The total income was at ₹2401 cr and the net profits were at ₹250 cr. Sasan UMPP’s 98% PLF since its Commercial Operation Date (COD) is one of the few noteworthy achievements.
