Andhra Pradesh government has decided to cancel the AP SSC examination. The state education minister Adimulapu Suresh announced the people with this regard. This decision has been taken due to the surge in the number of covid-19 cases.

The minister said that “Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy suggested us not to conduct examinations and promote all students to next class”.

This year over 6 lakh students have been enrolled for the AP SSC exams. The exams were scheduled from July 10 to July 15. But these were canceled due to the covid pandemic. The government previously tried to hold these exams with all the safety protocols taking into account. However, the move was withdrawn as this would take tremendous efforts from all departments.

The minister announced this cancellation to the press after holding a conference.

The child rights organizations sought the AP governor Biswabhusan Harichandan to advise the government to cancel the SSC exams. This view was taken by considering the safety issues for the students. As the virus cases are increasing day by day, it would be difficult for the government to provide a suitable environment for the students.

Also, the government decided to promote the students from class 6 to 9 without any exams. The AP Inter supplementary examination has also been canceled with this regard. Those students who failed in the AP inter examination are also considered as pass.
