The Government of Delhi has announced to provide digital tablets to over 2000 newly appointed teachers by the Directorate of Education (DoE) for government schools.

The official announcement was made by Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia in a press conference. He also shared further details about this initiative.

The Deputy CM said that the government’s motive behind this step is to introduce the teachers will new and advanced teaching methods of the 21st century.

Government’s ultimate aim is provide quality education for each and every student, thus providing tablets to teachers will help to raise the standards of teaching and learning process.

The digital tablets will also facilitate new teachers in maintaining uninterrupted online education during the current pandemic situations when schools are closed and no physical classes are being held.

The Aim is to encourage teachers to innovate and adopt creative teaching technique for better understanding of students as well as avoiding the hassle of teachers for explaining tough concept.

An official statement from the government mentioned that it has already distributed digital tablets to 60,555 teachers in session 2018-19 during the pandemic lockdown period.

The tablets being provided to teachers will also consist of study materials, online applications, virtual documents and other required facilities to facilitate the educators with online teaching.

The process of distribution will begin soon. The government has sought details of all teachers from the Directorate of Eduction who were recently appointed for the new academic session.

The tablets will be either disbursed from the respective schools or will be directly sent to the teachers. Teachers can use this devices to take the online classes from their homes or from schools.
