DU (Delhi University), which was likely to open the application forms for the admission in the university today (May 27th) has finally decided not to release it today but later this week and the forms will be out in the beginning of June.

DU admission, which has been delayed this year for so long from April 29th to 15th May, 21st May, 24th May and then 27th May. The officials of the university have released their mum on why the admissions are being stretched!

Reasons behind the delay

– “There are several reasons for the delay, but the most prominent reason is last year’s Delhi High Court direction to DU and CBSE,” said Prof. Rajeev of DU.

– Another reason being that there are several technical glitches arising during the testing process of the server, which is causing delay for the admission announcement as explained by an official to Times Now.

– The delay is also followed due to the finalising of the DU entrance exam conducting agency. As this year DU Standing Committee has decided NTA (National Testing Agency) to conduct the entrance exam of DU. Though, still the final decision is yet to be made.

It is to be noted that this year the registration process will be open for two weeks and the cut-off will be released after a week of end of registrations. The students will be able to register on the website of DU through online mode.

Also the DU standing committee has declared that it will be introducing several payment gateways to provide ease to the students. “Earlier there was only one payment gateway, which would lead to the server crashing but having multiple gateways will ease the process,” and official stated.

This year in the month of April the DU Standing Committee had ramificated the examination and admission policy and brought some afresh changes like online calculator, hike in fee, formulation of EWS (Economically Weaker Section) quota etc.

Apart from this, it had also exempted 5 games from the sports quota for the admission this year.
