The Chief Minister of Punjab, Capt. Amrinder Singh has wrote a letter to the Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh seeking an approval for the establishment of third sainik school in Bhatinda District of Punjab.

The CM has mentioned that as soon as the defence ministry grants an approval, the state government will sign a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the centre for the third Sainik School.

Punjab currently has one sainik school up and running at Kapurthala while a second school is about to come up at Gurdaspur. Now the state has requested the central government to sanction a third school.

The reason behind establishing a third sainik school is the increasing demand for admissions in this schools among the youths of punjab and availability of limited seats.

Capt. Amrinder Singh, Chief Minister, Punjab.

The Punjab CM says that even two sainik schools fail to meet the aspirations of our youth who are eager to join. The state is unable to provide sufficient resources for all this students to study in sainik schools.

It is noted that the MoA for second sainik school has been already signed. The MoA has also been accepted by the ex-servicemen welfare department of the Defence Ministry.

Following the MoA procedure, the state government of punjab has also alloted a land area of 40 Acres at Dalla Gorian in Gurdaspur for establishing the second sainik school.

Bhatinda district has been chosen to setup the third sainik school because of its geographical location. With this, The three sainik schools will serve all the three natural geographic divisions of the state.

The sainik schools are constantly dedicated since the very beginning to offer education of highest standards while maintaining the level of decipline observed at other defence schools, said capt. Amrinder Singh.

He further added that the schools has not only groomed students as professional citizens but has also turned them into the best military personals for our defence forces currently serving the nation.
