The State Council Of Education Research and Training (SCERT) of Maharashtra has introduced a short-term bridge course for the students of Class 2 to 10 in the academic session 2021-22.

This course was officially launched by Maharashtra’s school education Minister Varsha Gaikwad in a virtual inauguration ceremony held on 28th June by the IT department of SCERT.

The education minister then also shared the announcement for launch of this course via her official twitter handle. She shared her view on this initiative began by the state government for its childrens.

She wrote that Our department has launched various activities for students who are the focal point of our education system. This courses will definitely help to enhance the learning outcomes.

The duration for this bridge courses will be of 45 days. The subjects which will be taught in this courses are English, Hindi, Science, Mathematics, Social Science and Marathi. This all courses are available online at http://Maa.ac.in.

As informed by the school education minister, the activities of this courses will be conducted from July 1 to August 15, 2021. During this, The teachers will review academic performance of each student in previous year.

All the students of classes 2 to 10 were promoted to next classes without any exams this year. Thus no evaluation of students were held and teachers do not have any updates on what the students have learnt.

Also, the schools have been closed since more then a year and students have attended only online classes due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This has majorly affected the learning process of several students.

This bridge courses will not only help to create a link between two classes, but will also give a push to the marginalised students who were left behind due to the lack of resources for attending online classes.

Each course will comprise a series of three tests which can be taken by either online or offline mode. The teachers will keep a record of marks scored by each students in this test to prepare an overall evaluation result.
